1.73ct faceted oval chrysocolla in quartz 'gem silica'

Quartz is my second favorite gem because of the huge amount of inclusions it can have. This one has copper-bearing chrysocolla inside making this the highly collectible variety of chalcedony (kal-SED-nee) known as Gem Silica. It is 1.73ct in weight and measures a calibrated 9x7mm. It's untreated, likely from Arizona, semi-transparent (most is translucent at best), and is decently cut. It is a beautiful greenish blue with good saturation and medium to medium light tone. There are a few green inclusions; probably malachite which proves its natural origin. Usually seen as cabs, this faceted one is on the unusual side.
